About

This is my personal blog on what I consider reflections, contemplations and the Art of living in the circus of life. I’ve awakened to the reality that life is too random to take too seriously. It’s beautiful and tragic all at the same time. I’ve learned that all we can do, in the poetic words of Joseph Campbell, is to just “participate joyfully in the sorrows of the world. We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.”

So what is the true formula for living joyfully with purpose? I believe Bukowski had it right– “We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.”

I will also be writing and posting articles rooted in and influenced by the principles of liberty and peace. I believe there is a mass awakening happening in the United States thanks to ordinary people sharing ideas and swaying minds to rethink the status quo. No one has the answers but we all have ideas, and if these ideas are good– they wont go away.  As Emerson merrily pointed out to us over a century ago, “The world is his who can see through its pretension…See it to be a lie, and you have already dealt it its mortal blow.”

Thanks for checking it out.

Anyone who quotes Joseph Campbell and Emerson in their biography gets to come to the front of the class. You are a rare and precious creature, my friend. Stay that way. May your voice be heard around the world.

I agree with Jaytharding. Plus the bit about we are here to drink beer- simultaneously lyrical and true. 😛 I’m glad I found your blog, you’ve clearly furnished it with good things to read and think about.

    Pleased to meetcha!

Wow! I’ve read most of what you’ve posted here on your webpage, and it’s extremely rare that I agree with nearly everything someone else believes, but I find alignment with everywhere I look. I was beginning to think that nobody else sees the world the way I see it. Thank you for expressing your thoughts and sharing them.
